Happy Monday

Alas, another weekend has passed, and for many it is the start of a new work week.  I have a lot to accomplish this week, and I am lucky to have an assistant who helps to keep me on-track; I would be lost without her amazing scheduling skills.  I like to take a look at my week, and think about what I would like to have personally accomplished by Friday afternoon.  This  mentality helps me to prioritize and stay on track.  I call this “starting at the end” and it is valuable in all areas of your life.

Some of the best advice I can give is to set goals, or to start with your end result in mind.  I have more than 4,000 goals in writing. Why?  If you don’t know where you want to go, how are you going to get there?  Try and develop a crystal clear vision of your goal, and if you can, the necessary steps you need to take to get there.  Write your life the way you want it to be, and then systematically make it happen.

Starting at the end is an extremely liberating way of doing things.  You begin your journey with the confidence of someone who has the passion of the victory behind them. When you put your goals in writing you send a message to the universe that you are ready to start attracting the people and situations you need to make things happen.  Don’t be scared!  Set goals with the speed and efficiency of a racecar pit team.  GOAL setting is fun!

People used to laugh in my face when I told them I wanted to sell 15 million Chicken Soup for the Soul books.  Guess what, despite their laughter, we did it.  All people experience resistance; it is your job to be the person who identifies it and overcomes it.  As an exercise, please write down at least 5 things that make you special and unique.  Things you love about yourself.  Whenever you are feeling the sting of resistance, simply read your list, take a deep breath, and smile.  You are a wonderful being of empowered light and you CAN do it.
